Silk Screen Printing Screen Mesh Degreaser

Degreasing polyester mesh is an important first step in screen printing. By degreasing the synthetic mesh before coating the mesh with emulsion, you help eliminate pin holes and fish eye. Both are contributors to early break down of the emulsion. Our degreasers do not contain odor masking chemicals, lanolin, or other additives that will leave a residue on the mesh after rinsing.

Non abrasive degreaser is for between emulsion coatings
Abrasive degreaser is best used for new mesh. It scores the smooth thread surface, to give the emulsion more to hold onto .

To use a non abrasive mesh degreaser for screen printing:
1) Rinse the polyester mesh with water.
2) Using a spray bottle, apply about 6-8 squirts to the mesh area. Using a scrub pad, work the degreaser all over the mesh.
3) Spin screen and repeat step 2.
4) Thoroughly rinse with water. High pressure is not needed. Tap pressure is fine.
