Union Ink - Hot Peel-Cold Peel
Screen Printing transfers for Hot Peel

There are times when a screen printer may want to print transfers for later use, or at a customers request. When screen printing transfers, the change in the screen printing procedure is on the press. Instead of printing on material you will be printing on transfer paper, made for hot/cold peel or hot peel only. T75 works best for both types of peel.

Some inks like Union Inks AUTO & PLUS series screen printing Plastisol inks are made for hot/cold peel transfers. These work fine on whites and some light color materials. For dark material you need to look at Mixotrans mixing inks or additives.

There are additives for screen printing transfers that will be put onto dark materials using Maxopake Plastisol inks. PLUS 9040 (MIXO-TRANS) for Union Inks Maxopake (PADM) and athletic Gloss (PATH)
MIXO-TRANS
PLUS 9040 - For MIXO Plastisol inks.

ULON adhesive powder is used to help the transfer adhere to synthetic materials, like nylon , polyester, and some water proof coatings. It is not necessary for use with T-shirts, but most printers use it for added adhesion. You can sprinkle it onto the wet ink before curing or you can mix it into the ink (10% by weight) before printing.
