Screen Printing Textile Exposure Units
Over View of Screen Printing Exposure Units
The usual entry level exposure unit for screen printing is the flourescent tube, followed by the 1000W quartz light, and then the metal halide light. The Black Light tube has really improved the flourescent tube exposure light. With our emulsions our customers are exposing screens at under one minute.
* Flourescent Tube The average screen printer that manufactures t-shirts , who's art work does not contain very fine lines or half tones, does very well with the flourescent tube exposure units. Fine lines and half tones can be done by under exposing the stencil, then doing a post exposure. The burn time for 40watt day lighter bulbs is around 5-6 minutes. The black light bulb will be around 1 minute.
* Quartz The next step up from the flourescent tube is the 1000Wquartz, which does a very nice job on fine line detail, or half tones. Under exposure is usually not necessary. The burn time is around 5-6 minutes.
* Metal halide is used by screen printing companies that primarily do very high end work or graphic printers that expose very large format screens.

Photosharp
All Metal Halide / Point Light Screen Exposure Systems are not created equal! Compare for yourself, PhotoSharp’s performance is simply unmatched!
• Higher Resolution
• Faster Exposure Speeds
• Better Light Uniformity
• Longer Lamp Life
LARGE SCREEN CAPACITY
Model 2536-1 (30x40” Max Screen Size) is designed to accommodate popular screen sizes with generous room for the addition of pre-registration systems.
IDLED / SHUTTERED LAMP
Faster Exposure Times/Longer Lamp Life
Metal Halide lamps perform optimally only when all of the metals in the lamp are warmed to the proper temperature. Competitive systems use an “instant-start lamp” which “cold-strikes” with each exposure. Instant-Start / Cold-Striking results in longer exposure times and substantially shorter lamp life. In contrast, PhotoSharp uses an idled / idled at a low wattage to maintain proper lampIn contrast, PhotoSharp uses an idled / shuttered lamp. The lamp is idled at a low wattage to maintain proper lamp temperature between exposures. The result is faster exposure speeds and longer lamp life.
MIRROR GRADE
To minimize exposure time PhotoSharp uses mirror grade glass.
EASY ACCESS CLEANING
Hinged Access Door enables operator to easily clean both sides of the glass.
OPTIMUM SPECTRAL OUTPUT
Temperature Controlled Spectrally Matched Lamps
For faster exposure times, lamp chemistry is spectrally matched with diazo and photopolymer sensitized materials. Plus lamp temperature is constantly monitored and maintained to assure optimal spectral output throughout exposure.
SAFETY SWITCH
Magnetic safety switch instantly closes shutter whenever the vacuum top or access door are open.
SMALL / FOCUSED REFLECTOR
Better Light Uniformity and Higher Image Resolution
PhotoSharp’s small, focused reflector has better light columnation than any other system available. The small reflector design offers less light undercutting for unsurpassed image resolution. Compare PhotoSharp’s image resolution, it is simply unmatched by any other system available. |
